A couple of suprise visitors

Two weeks ago I heard some noises coming from the wood burning stove. I thought for sure we had a bird, so I opened up the flue hoping he would escape they same way he came in. After a good 30 minutes I had not heard any noises. I banged the stove a few times sure that if the bird was still there it would fly around. I heard nothing so I assumed it gone back out the top. I opened the door to start a fire, taking my time shredding newspaper and placing logs. I had a nice toasty fire going when Troy can home and I told him about hearing the wind and thinking it was a bird. A few minutes later I hear a scream from Miles and Troy says are you sure it wasn't a bird as I see a bird fly across our living room!

All five of us spent the next several minutes chasing the bird from Jeremiah's room to the living room. Screaming every time it flew as if we didn't know that is what it would do.

We had about 10 minutes of pure excitement from everyone as we tried to figure out how to get him out of our house.

Wow, this is CRAZY!!!

He really liked our nice big plant.

Then he found his way into Lexi's room. She went from running around and giggling to crying when he landed on her bed. We told her it would be ok as we closed her bedroom door and opened the back door. Thankfully, the bird quickly found his way out through the back door.

Whew, he's gone!

A few days ago, Troy was starting a fire and ANOTHER bird flew out and into the house.

This one also went right up to Jeremiah's room.

He tried to get comfy in Jeremiah's unmade bed. Then went and hid behind him bean bag.

I opened Jeremiah's bedroom window as Troy lifted the beanbag. The bird flew straight for the window and away he went.

Miles telling us how that bird almost landed on his head.
Let's hope the birds all go south for the winter soon and we don't have any more flying friends come inside for a visit!
