Miles and Troy at the end of a work day.

Well, the newness of practicing the guitar has worn off a little, but after a little convincing, he will practice and usually really gets into it.

Breckenridge snow sculptures

Last Friday after school we went to Breck to see the snow sculptures.

This is the first time we have seen them being created. The judging was the next morning so they were close to finished and all of the artist were very friendly explaining what they were doing to the kids.

Check out the brown model with the snow sculpture behind, it is amazing what these people can create from a huge block of snow!

This one was my favorite.

We were trying to figure out how the woman inside gets out.

We walked through a snow tunnel like the ones the people of Breckenridge had to build 100 years ago because they had that much snow.

The kids favorite was the monster truck slide!

Troy dumped snow on the kids as they came out the slide.

And he had to go in and checked it out.

Happy 7th Birthday Jeremiah!

Jeremiah took cupcakes to school on Friday.

Saturday evening Magnus, Rudy, and Ryan come over for a slumber party! They were all really well behaved and even let Lexi and Miles join in on all the fun.

We had pizza followed by ice cream sundays.

We put a movie in and tried to get everyone calmed down around 8:30. The boys said they stayed up all night, but they stop making any noise around 12:30 and were quite until 7:00.

The pancakes with whip cream and strawberries were a big hit!

After everyone left, we went snowshoeing.

Montezuma had tons of fresh snow.

Jeremiah had a fun birthday weekend!

Tuesday with Miles

On Tuesdays, Troy works and I get to stay home with Miles. I love being able to spend one day a week with just my baby!

After we get Jeremiah and Lexi off on the bus, Miles loves to turn on cartoons and snuggle up on the couch. Although there is laundry to be done and toilets to scrub, I try never to pass an opportunity to snuggle!

This past Tuesday we spent most of the morning watching the inauguration events on tv, then I decided we need to get outside for some fresh air!

I wanted to go snow shoeing, Miles wanted to go the lake, so I suggested we go snow shoeing by a river in Montezuma.

We had a nice peaceful walk by the frozen river.

We took the kids to Chuck E Cheese on Saturday.

Some many things to do, where should I go first?

Lexi's tails flew on the horse ride.

Troy showing the kids the round tip of the state capital from our hotel window.

See all the tall buildings.
We dropped the kids off to spend two nights with Grandma and Dale. Their favorite part of the weekend was the carriage ride to the ESPN Zone for dinner on Saturday night.
Troy and I had 2 nights in Denver with no kids! We went to out for dinner, went to a movie, walked up and down the 16th Street Mall several times, slept in and went to an Avalanche game.

Thanks Grandma and Dale, we had a great date weekend!

The Tiger Cubs visited a local radio station at their last den meeting.

The Bedtime Routine

We start with Miles, reading him a book, or two, or three, or four depending on how cute Miles is when he says "nother one pease". We find all five "babies", yes 5 babies and he checks to be sure they are all there. Give hugs and kisses and we both must say "Goodnight Miles, I love you, sleep good, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite, I'll see you in the morning""

Troy takes Jeremiah upstairs and I head to Lexi's room next and wait and wait and wait while she picks out the perfect book. I lay in bed with her and we read a book. We then spend a few minutes just talking. Tonight we discussed her future...."I want to be a doctor like Alex's Mom when I grow up, but I don't know how to be a doctor." "Don't worry Lexi, you have years, to learn all you need to know. They will teach you that when you are in college and medical school" "Ohhhhhhh!"
I cover her up, and be sure she has her pink blankly, which she has had since she was born. "Goodnight Lexi, I love you, sleep good, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite, I'll see you in the morning" followed by a big hug and kisses. "Goodnight Mom, I love you, sleep good, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite, I'll see you in the morning"

In Jeremiah's room, I find him and Troy either playing with Jeremiah's toys or sitting on the floor talking. "Goodnight Dad, I love you, sleep good, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite, I'll see you in the morning" Hugs and kisses followed by "Goodnight Jeremiah, I love you, sleep good, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite, I'll see you in the morning". Troy heads down for his turn to tuck Lexi in while lay in bed with Jeremiah. I scratch his back as he tells me about his day. I cover him up nice and snug with his blankly which was Troy's, give him hugs and kisses. And then the final exchange of "Goodnight, I love you, sleep good, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite, I'll see you in the morning"

And soon after, we have 3 peaceful sleeping kids.
I hope they never grow out of those bedtime wishes, hugs, and kisses!

Last night Troy and I went out for a moonlight snow shoe.
It was SO relaxing,we stopped several times to enjoy the peace and quite, something we don't get much of at home!

This looks like a nice place for a rest......

and some wine!

By the time we headed back to the car, we were both cold and tired, but refreshed after some peaceful time with each other!!! When is the next full moon?!?!?!

Our future rocker!

Jeremiah had his 1st guitar lesson today!

He talked about how fun it was from the minute his lesson ended until we tucked him in bed. Mom and Dad just hope he gets good fast because Mrs. Sandy wants him to practice at home at least 5 days a week! His best friend Magnus also got a guitar for Christmas and takes lesson from the same women, so she plans to teach them the same songs in hopes that they practice together. Jeremiah couldn't be more excited!

We rang in the New Year at 8:00pm watching the fireworks in Keystone.

2009 ice sculpture
We found a nice snow bank above the frozen lake to sit and watch the fireworks.

ooooooooohhhhhhhhh aaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwww

Jeremiah thought this was so funny he wanted to be sure we got a picture! He only wished there was one more spot so the whole family could have been in it.

There was a beautiful ice sculpture of Santa's sleigh and eight tiny reindeer.

Take care Rudolf, we'll see you next year.

Warming up around the fire pit with my family close by, the perfect way to begin a year new!
