Happy Halloween!!

Last night we made Frankenstein marshmallows for Jeremiah and Lexi to take to school for their class parties today. Jeremiah, Lexi and Miles enjoyed helping me make the first 10 and I had a late night making the other 45, but they turned out very cute and were a big hit! While Troy helped out with Lexi and Miles parties, I helped with Jeremiah's Kindergarten class party.

The principle went to each room and got all the kids for a costume parade through the school ending in the gym. After a little pep talk about enjoying Halloween, the costumes, and time with friends, Principle Miller instructed the kids to dance back to their classrooms and enjoy their parties. I don't remember my Principle being so cool!

All of the female teachers dressed as witches this year. The kids got a kick out of this cute idea.

The weather was actually nice this evening (37 degrees), so we went out for a little trick - or - treating. Miles got the hang of it pretty fast walking up to the houses, holding out his bag, and saying "treat". He knew the treat part was all he really wanted! At bedtime tonight Jeremiah gave us big hugs and said "thanks Mom and Dad, I had a good Halloween." Thank you Jeremiah, Lexi and Miles for making it so special!

Saturday, Lexi had her best soccer game yet! Scoring 4 goals and having several assists! Lexi's coach was SO proud of his star player this week since she spent the last 7 weeks playing with her hair and looking for airplanes! She really broke out this week! Too bad it took her until the LAST game of the season!

Jeremiah and Lexi are both proud of their soccer trophy!

Today, we went to a Halloween carnival at another Elementary school.

It snowed last night and most of the day!

Crazy how different the ground can look from one day to the next!

Halloween fun

After school today, we all put on our costume for the Fall Festival at Jeremiah's school. The kidos enjoyed all the other costumes and the games, but of course they thought the best part was all the candy!!

Enjoying Fall

Last Saturday, after soccer games, we went to a pumpkin patch at the Silverthorne Pavilion. The kids enjoy this annual event where they dress up in costume and pick their pumpkins.

Troy is excited we went with the Star Wars theme this year!

After the pumpkin patch, we came home and put on our firemen jackets to head over to the fire station for their annual open house. we ate hot dogs, said hi to Smokey the Bear, and learned about fire safety.

Yesterday, I was able to join Lexi's class for a field trip to a farm in Denver.

We went on a hay ride!

And stopped to gather potatoes.

Then carrots!

Next the Indian Corn.

It was so colorful.

We had to get all the different ones.

And finally, the pumpkin patch!

It was a super fun field trip!!

The ROCKIES are going to the WORLD SERIES!!!

Troy and I enjoyed a GREAT baseball game this evening as the ROCKIES swept the Diamondbacks for the National League Championship!! The excitement at the stadium is still ringing in my ears! Skiing in some fresh powder in the morning and cheering on the Rockies in a playoff game in the afternoon! How I love Colorado!!!

2007-2008 ski season off to a good start!

It is a GREAT day to live in the mountains! A-Basin opened for the season today! Thanks to their snow making abilities, today was the earliest opening day in their 61 years. Troy and I decided to take the day off and get out on the hill!

Walking in grass and dirt to get to the ski lift is always fun!

The weather was perfect and the snow was nice! A fabulous day enjoying our beautiful mountains!

We smiled all day!!!

This morning we drove to Denver and met Grandma, Dale and Aunt Mandy for the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. We arrived a hour and a half early to see the animals before the show. The trainers clean the dirt and hay off of the elephants with a leaf blower. The kids got a good laugh over this!

We met a real clown!

The kids were amazed!

I think Troy and I spent more time watching the kids and their reactions than the show.

Miles had a blast!

Jeremiah wanted a snow cone really, really bad!

And of course, Lexi too!

We all had a GREAT day!!!

And were nice and worn out for the ride home.

We drove over Loveland Pass to check out the snow blowing operation at A-Basin. We heard they are opening on Oct12. (with one run)
