Chilling on Lake Dillon

Saturday Jason invited us for a ride on his neighbor's pontoon boat.

It was a beautiful summer day, so we jumped at the opportunity.

Lexi, just hanging out.

The captain took us over to the amphitheater so we could dance the night away at the 1st summer concert.

Sunday, Jason invited the family to go fishing on his boat.

Awwwww yeah, this is the life!

We caught a TON of fish! The kids counted 56 fish and they only counted the ones that made it all the way on the boat. We caught several that didn't make in the boat, especially since Jason let the kids real in most of his fish. They were all pretty small rainbow trout so we released them all. I think the kids favorite part was putting the fish back in the water.

Miles caught one all on his own. We thought he caught the boat when he said he had a fish, but sure enough there was a fish on the end of his 15 foot line!!

He was giggling about his catch for a while.

Pretty sweet fishing hole!

Summer time is the best!!!!!

Rafting

Ready for our trip through Brown's Canyon.

The first part of the ride was a nice relaxing time to take in the scenery.

The rock behind Troy is called Elephant's Rear.

At the lunch stop we hiked around the area finding a few small waterfalls.

This was the big one at the top.

Nice and wet, but still smiling after a set of rapids.

They had us stop and look at this hole before going through it. We took a picture in case we lost one of us.

We made it through and enjoyed the beautiful mountain view once through the canyon.

These pictures were taken as we went through on set of rapids.

We enjoyed a great day on the river!!!!!!!!

Good times with Grams and Pops

wagon ride

Grams and Pops arrived Saturday and we went on a wagon dinner ride.
Thanking Rocky and Randy for the ride.

The rain didn't stop the kids from exploring the cabins.

Did someone say hot chocolate? We are there!

After dinner, we enjoyed singing by the camp fire.

Here comes our ride.

Scout camp out at Marr's cabin

Last weekend we went on a scouts family camp out to one scout's family treasure, a cabin with a pond on 60 acres surrounded by national forest.

Every one's favorite place to be was on the pond.

Lexi is a little to short to reach the paddles on the paddle boat while sitting, but that didn't slow her down.

We went on a hike in the nearby national forest. We discussed with the scouts how a fire 9 years ago burned down this area. There were 10 boy scouts hiking in this area when the fire started, they found the pond at Marr's cabin and cut hoses, planning on having to be in the pond as the fire burned. They were rescued, but this story showed the boys how scouts are always prepared for any situation.

The highlight of the hike was letting each kid climb this rope latter up one of the highest rocks and check out the view. Several Dad's helped to ensure everyone made it up and down safely.

I hung out on another rock and let the kids do the climbing.

Lexi didn't have any trouble hanging with the boys. She even had James taking her on hikes.

Troy, Miles and I waited our turn and got out on the pond too.

"Please take me in the canoe Daddy"

Sometimes you just need to get away from the boys and color. (I guess Miles doesn't really count as a boy yet)

Where is your paddle Troy? The only person to fall off a boat and into the pond all weekend was Troy. All of his scouts got a big kick out of it!

Jeremiah was nice enough to take his brother on several rides.

Miles love to play with bugs. After a few minutes this beetle had enough and flew away.

All the kids did surprisingly good on the canoe.

We got brave enough to let the girls have control.

Jeremiah tried out a kayak for the first time. I was pretty nervous letting him go out in it, but he did great and went out several times. He said the kayak was his favorite part of the weekend.

Lexi was trying to catch a butterfly for a while. She finally did get it and was more surprised than the butterfly which flew off pretty fast.

Most of the kids with their Scout Master Gary.
What a fun family weekend!
