The Bedtime Routine

We start with Miles, reading him a book, or two, or three, or four depending on how cute Miles is when he says "nother one pease". We find all five "babies", yes 5 babies and he checks to be sure they are all there. Give hugs and kisses and we both must say "Goodnight Miles, I love you, sleep good, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite, I'll see you in the morning""

Troy takes Jeremiah upstairs and I head to Lexi's room next and wait and wait and wait while she picks out the perfect book. I lay in bed with her and we read a book. We then spend a few minutes just talking. Tonight we discussed her future...."I want to be a doctor like Alex's Mom when I grow up, but I don't know how to be a doctor." "Don't worry Lexi, you have years, to learn all you need to know. They will teach you that when you are in college and medical school" "Ohhhhhhh!"
I cover her up, and be sure she has her pink blankly, which she has had since she was born. "Goodnight Lexi, I love you, sleep good, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite, I'll see you in the morning" followed by a big hug and kisses. "Goodnight Mom, I love you, sleep good, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite, I'll see you in the morning"

In Jeremiah's room, I find him and Troy either playing with Jeremiah's toys or sitting on the floor talking. "Goodnight Dad, I love you, sleep good, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite, I'll see you in the morning" Hugs and kisses followed by "Goodnight Jeremiah, I love you, sleep good, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite, I'll see you in the morning". Troy heads down for his turn to tuck Lexi in while lay in bed with Jeremiah. I scratch his back as he tells me about his day. I cover him up nice and snug with his blankly which was Troy's, give him hugs and kisses. And then the final exchange of "Goodnight, I love you, sleep good, sleep tight, don't let the bed bugs bite, I'll see you in the morning"

And soon after, we have 3 peaceful sleeping kids.
I hope they never grow out of those bedtime wishes, hugs, and kisses!
